Dear Frontline family,
There's no place like home! It is hard to believe it has been one week since we returned from Cleveland to be reunited with our family (and our own beds!). We are so grateful for your love, prayers, and support. The journey is far from over, but it is far easier now that we are home.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was fantastic, needless to say, with so much for which to give thanks. Below is a great poem I shared on Sunday from an unknown author on being thankful.
My wife Heather's women's Journey Group is moving from Wednesday to Tuesday evenings. For details, call her at 734.717.8251.
The annual Leaders CHRISTmas Party will be held at the Angel Food Cafe on Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti on Saturday, December 9 at 6:30 PM. Child care is not provided.
This Sunday Briarwood Mall is having a special fundraiser for the Ann Arbor Ronald McDonald House. For $20, you will receive a wristband with discounts throughout the mall. For details, visit http://shopbriarwood.com/static/doc_051953.jsp.
We will be serving at the Ronald McDonald House and singing at the Arbor Hospice on Sunday, December 10 as part of s2s: Sunday 2 Serve. The day of serving will conclude with a chili dinner at 6:15 PM at the University Reformed Church downtown.
Speaking of URC, we will have a special joint worship gathering at URC on CHRISTmas Eve at 10:30 AM (we will NOT have a gathering at the Frontline Living Room on Avis Drive).
On New Year's Eve, URC will join us at the Frontline Living Room for a joint worship gathering at 10:30 AM.
Finally, the Frontline Living Room is in need of CHRISTmas cheer. If you would like to decorate (we have most of the decorations), please email Kirk here.
Again, thank you for your powerful prayers and support.
With a very thankful heart,
Kirk
Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a effort.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.
